Itâs called the LG Side-by-Side refrigerator.
It comes in 12 different modes, each with different features and finishes. Only three of those will score you a âCraft Ice Makerâ, however.Â
This will make you ice balls worthy of any decent cocktail. The Craft Ice Maker creates slow-melting ice balls around 50mm or two-inches in diameter.Â
The ice box stores up to 30 craft ice balls at any one time, but it only makes about three ice balls every 22 hours or so.
The whole point of rounded ice, it has less surface volume which means it melts slower than regular ice. Thatâs important if you want to keep your cocktail colder for longer with less water to affect the taste.
It seems counter-intuitive, but the Side-by-Side fridge actually heats the water before freezing it. LG says that it helps to slowly form the ice and get rid of the air bubbles inside. The process leaves you with a solid and more importantly a clearer ice globe.
Obviously, itâs going to depend on the quality of the water youâre putting in from the tap, but it looks the goods.
Speaking of quality water, fridges in the Side-by-Side range also include a UV-light system. This gadget sterilises the water dispenser nozzle for ten minutes every hour. This apparently kills 99.99 per cent of bacteria, and you can activate it on demand if you wish.
And to keep it more in the entertainerâs lane, the fridge comes with a four-bottle wine rack for your chilling needs. If youâre an aspiring mixologist who wants to score the new âCraft Ice Makerâ for yourself, youâll be looking at the âŻGS-D635PLC, GS-D635MBLCâŻand top of the line âŻGS-V635MBLC.
